This year our organization celebrates the 20th anniversary of its activities to support children with disabilities and children in conflict with the law, some of whom live in the residential institutions (boarding schools and closed institutions). Over the years, many of our ideas and initiatives in the interests of children have been adapted and implemented in our country, including through implementation at the legislative level.
This year has brought many challenges both to society and to the children with whom we work. In the current conditions and within the framework of events for the 20th anniversary of the organization, we plan to hold from 14 to 17 December 2020. online conference "Effective protection of the rights of children of vulnerable groups: from understanding to assessment."
The conference is supposed to get acquainted with new approaches to the realization of the rights of children with disabilities in foreign countries, to present the developed system for monitoring the rights of children with disabilities in residential institutions, approaches to teaching the rights of children with disabilities, to discuss further prospects for expanding the realization of children's rights, the possibilities of interaction between state institutions and public organizations in the field of realization of children's rights.
The conference is expected to include speeches by Belarusian and foreign speakers - representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education, the Deputy Chairman of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, the UNICEF representative in the Republic of Belarus, etc.
