The charity public organization “World Without Borders”, with the support of the non-governmental organization “ERIKS Development Partner” (Kingdom of Sweden) is implementing the project  “ To Know in Oder to Help”. The project aims to study and test international standards for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the rights of children with disabilities, new approaches to expand the ability of children with disabilities to enjoy the rights guaranteed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus. The objectives of the project are in line with national interests, development prospects, plans and strategies in the field of social protection, as well as legislation and international obligations of the Republic of Belarus. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to familiarize a group of experts from among the representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the labor and social protection committees of the regional executive committees with forms and methods of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the rights by children with disabilities in the house-boarding institutions for children with disabilities with special needs. In the course of the work, it is also planned to develop recommendations for ensuring the assessment and self-assessment of the observance of the rights of children with disabilities, including monitoring criteria and methods.

An important component of the project will be the familiarization of a group of employees of the house-boarding institutions for children with disabilities with the peculiarities of psychophysical development with modern approaches and the necessary skills to introduce innovative teaching and learning methods for children's rights in these institutions .

The project provides for participants seminars involving Belarusian and foreign specialists as well as short-term trips abroad in order to familiarize themselves with approaches to the realization of the rights of children with disabilities in other countries.

 The project results will increase the legal awareness of residents and employees of the house boarding institutions, improve the quality of life of children with disabilities living in inpatient facilities. It is also planned to develop an interdepartmental monitoring system for the implementation of the rights of children with disabilities, which will be an effective tool for assessing the quality of life of children with disabilities in stationary institutions.
