Within the framework of the project “Improving restorative practices for adolescents in contact or conflict with the law”, a three-day training was held from 21 to 23 September. The event was attended by 36 people: representatives of the administration and specialists from 2 socio-pedagogical centers. The deputy chairperson of the commission for minors' affairs of Minsk district department of internal affairs also took part in the event.
Within the framework of the project, trainings were held on the following topics:
“Implementation of case management in the work with children of the target groups of the project. Referral for help and support. Drawing up an Agreement with teenagers and parents for the provision of services ”;
Structured method "Assessment of risks and opportunities". Work in micro groups. Role modeling;
Planning of work with a child case based on the results of the diagnostics "Assessment of risks and opportunities". Work in micro groups; Goal-settings in the work with a child's case based on SMART principles. Applied process of modeling in microgroups. Discussion. Expertise;
Motivational interview. Dealing with client resistance. MI stages: questions, listening, debriefing and support. Possible problems in communication with a teenager. Work in micro-groups, discussions, assessment.
The training was held in the format of lectures and practical work in micro-groups, where the participants were able to work through the situations, to be in the place of a teenager, a specialist and an observer and assess the situation as a whole.
Survey of participants was conducted. The results of the feedback indicate the intentions of the participants to use the acquired knowledge in working with adolescents in contact or in conflict with the law.
