The experience of introducing AAC in St. Petersburg boarding school

The participants of the International Conference were  happy to receive the ten years experience results of the implementation of AAC in one of the boarding schools in St.Petersburg.
Experts shared their experience of using AAC in a stationary institution in their report "Communicative behavior of teachers and specialists using ADC technologies in working with children with intellectual disabilities in a stationary institution".
Asikritova Elena, speech therapist and Larisa Solovyova, psychologist of the State residential institution of social services "Boarding school for children with disabilities and invalids from childhood with mental disabilities No. 1".
With a small team, they began to introduce AAC into communication with her pupils. Over  the time, they felt that having alternative communication made their work easier for them. With children they communicate with gestures and different picture symbols.
