Summer without borders.

From June 27 to 29, the summer sports and entertainment event “Summer without Borders” took place in the Bogushevsky house-boarding school. This means that the staff and volunteers of the WWB “settled” again in the boarding house for several days to provide the children with several days of intensive friendship). Games, walks in the fresh air, carnival, fairy tales, movies, tea parties, dancing, a soap bubble show, a picnic together with the attention and understanding. Yep. Everything was included) And such events help to apply the knowledge and skills acquired by volunteers; to provide individual attention to specific pupils of the orphanage (after all, they lack it so much), to demonstrate to the staff models of interactions with children; provide children with the opportunity to participate and contribute to their daily lives.
Many thanks to all the participants of the “summer without borders”.

Voices of volunteers)

Once in the summer, we, the volunteers, were lucky to spend the whole 3 days in Bogushevsky house-boarding school with its inhabitants. We were together with the World Without Borders charitable organization. We tried to make those 3 days unforgettable, as amusing as possible for the benefit of children. That was our first and a very cool trip.

There are many children living in boarding house: they differ in age, diagnoses, and have different limitations. But we never stop wondering what great things each of them is capable of. They know how to make soap, make original paintings, embroider, and more.

And these are all children with special needs.

Our task was not only to spend a good time with them, but also to provide support for the children, which is very important.

There were a lot of children and little time, but the team of the “World without Borders” made an excellent program for all 3 days, where everything was perfectly arranged, so we managed to devote time to different children.

At first, we communicated with children who have a difficult diagnosis. We held an interesting carnival party, decorated the room, and also put decorations on the children. We tried to please the children with live music: we played maracas, guitar, flute, kahon, danced for the kids, and also put the instruments into their hands. The kids were happy and laughed. They do not speak, but from the expression of their wonderful eyes we could see that they liked it. In the morning circle we sang the songs for them, passed around different objects, so that the children would touch and see them. It seems such a trifle, but for them it is very important.

With other guys we blew soap bubbles, played different games with a clown, performed creative tasks, went for a walk on the street and on the river. Of course, they were also delighted, and the smile on their face did not disappear for a very long time.

But we did not ignore the elder guys either. We talked a lot to them about things they were interested in. We watched and enjoyed together a movie in the assembly hall. We also had a great picnic on the river for them: we made a fire, fried sausages, sang wonderful songs and played guitar, we fished, and made many great selfies. They did everything to make even young adults happy.

They loved it, it was great!

It seems to us that we have coped with our task. In such a short time we gave the children a lot of joy and positive emotions, and made them happier.

Of course, it is impossible to say that it was easy for us, because we didn’t have much experience in working with such guys. There were some difficulties, but we overcame them with ease. After all, how can you resist the guys who hug you, pull their hands to you, smile to you. So you understand that they will remain in your memory and heart for a long time.

And all this happened thanks to the “World without Borders.” They gave us the opportunity to stay with the guys for 3 wonderful days.
