The charitable social project for training volunteers "School of Goodness" started today in Gomel on the basis of a house-boarding institution for disabled children with special psychophysical developmental disorders BELTA correspondent reports. The project is aimed at preparing volunteers for the implementation of social programmes.
"We are faced with the fact that the young people do not know what responsible and hard work it is to be a volunteer. It is very important to train and educate young men and women for volunteer activities, "Nikolay Svetogor, the first secretary of the PA "Belarusian Republican Youth Union”, said at the opening ceremony of the project. The free course is designed for almost three months. Listeners can be senior school pupils, students, working youth or someone who is in search of a workplace, etc. The first group of 15 people will start classes tomorrow.
"The training programme includes three modules of a specialised course: basics of volunteer activity, theoretical training in five areas, practical part. Classes will take the form of seminars, trainings, various creative events, role plays and thematic games, discussions, etc. The final seminar will be completed, where the students will have to pass the exams, "- said the head of the school Veronika Rozhkova. The young people who have completed the full course will receive certificates. The organizers of "School of Goodness" are Gomel house-boarding institution for disabled children with psychophysical developmental disorders (the volunteer team of this institution was the initiator of the project), the city organization of the PA “Belarusian Republican Youth Union”, the volunteer detachment "The Seventh Heaven", OJSC "Gomel Casting and Normals Plant", charitable public association "World without Borders".
