Online training sessions for professionals involved in the project are a series of seminars, each of which is devoted to a specific topic related to working with children in conflict with the law. The invited experts introduced the participants to the advanced methods of working with adolescents, shared their practical experience of their implementation and revealed the ways in which modern approached can be used in practice.
Irina Lukyanovich conducted training sessions on the method of conducting motivational interviews and organizing self-help groups. Irina Lukyanovich is the founder of the "Starting Point" institution, the coordinator of projects for drug addiction prevention, the author of numerous manuals on topics such as motivational counseling and the organization of self-help groups.
Irina conducted three three-hour sessions on two aspects of the work: “Motivational interview” and “Organization of self-help groups”. The method of motivational counseling is aimed at creating motivation for a teenager to change his behavior. Irina spoke about the key principles of conducting a motivational interview and the possibilities of using this technique in a program of assistance and individual preventive work with a teenager. The basis of the second method, which Irina threw light on, is helping to organize groups of adolescents who are experiencing similar problems and come together to build a strategy for their future life plans.
Ulyana Avchinnikova, a practicing psychologist and schema-therapy expert, spoke about the leading modern method of psychotherapy, called cognitive-behavioral approach, which focuses on thinking and behavior. Ulyana highlighted the key principles of the approach, the essence of the cognitive model and work protocols for use by specialists.
The project "Teen in conflict with the law: from conflict to inclusion" aims to empower specialists to provide effective comprehensive assistance to adolescents who find themselves in difficult life situations.
