National consultations about the priorities of the Framework program of cooperation of the UN and Belarus in the sphere of the stable development for 2021 – 2025 years

In the event took part the deputy chairman of the Council of the Republic, national coordinator for  SDG(Sustainable Development Goal) achievement Marianna Shchetkina, the UN resident coordinator in Belarus Johna Kazana-Vishnevetsky, heads of ministries and departments, Parliament, civil society organizations and business.
National consultations about the priorities of the Framework program of cooperation of the UN and Belarus in the sphere of the stable development for 2021 – 2025 years were held on October 23 and 24 in Minsk. This program is replacing the Framework program of the UN for assistance to Belarus for development in 2016-2020.
In the first part of the consultation the participants got acquainted with the priorities of the National strategy for stable development of Belarus for the period before 2035, the results of regional consultations, and ways to speed up the implementation of the SDG(Sustainable Development Goal). The agencies of the UN and national experts discussed the priorities of SDG achievements in four areas: green transition to inclusive and stable growth, focus on future generations, digital transformation and social innovation, gender equality in society.
National consultations about the priorities of the Framework program of cooperation of the UN and Belarus in the sphere of the stable development for 2021 – 2025 years for the first time are holding with the wide participation of UN partners, such as representatives of the government, Parliament, civil society organizations and business. The consultations are a continuation of the activities of UN organizations in Belarus to assist in the implementation of the stable development Goals.
