On the frosty January days, the hottest young hearts came together to share the warmth with each other. But at the same time - to demonstrate their skills in sports, to communicate and have a good time. Three days, from January 16 to January 18, the Republican Spartakiad for residents of house-boarding schools for children and young people with disabilities was held at the Center for Olympic Training "Stayki". About how was the second day of the competition - in our material.
Traditionally, the Spartakiad is held by CPA "World without Borders" together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. This year the Ministry of Sport and Tourism also joined the organization of the competitions and included the Spartakiad into the Republican calendar of sports events. This was another recognition of the significance of this sport event, which has been held annually since 2004. By the way, the panel of judges also included representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
Teams of 7 people came from 9 house-boarding schools. The guys competed in various sports races, darts, table tennis, novus (sea billiards) and showed good results.
Denis Kupriyanov works as a trainer in the Bogushevsk house-boarding school. He teaches his young sportsmen how to play Novus, Bocce, Petanque - a kind of Bocce, darts, mini football, volleyball, and now, in the winter, they all ski together. It is not surprising that at various competitions the team of the Bogushevsk house-boarding school takes top places - after all, their coach has a lot of experience. Previously, Denis worked in a sports school, and work in the house-boarding school was just part-time. But in the end he liked to work there so much that stayed for full-time. In addition, Denis Kupriyanov is a table tennis master, and competes for the Vitebsk region. From his own experience, he teaches children that victories are achieved only with hard work and patience, and nothing else.
Elizaveta from the Gorodishche house-boarding school plays Novus, and successfully: she already knows the taste of victory. Another serious passion for Lisa is dancing. In addition, the girl proudly told that she is now living in the department of accompanied residing:
"- I am preparing there for independent living, so that I can later live alone. We learn to cook, I can cook pancakes myself and make pastries, make tea, sandwiches - I almost know everything. I hope that when I live on my own, I can restore my legal capacity - this is my dream!".
Waiting for their turn in the competition to come, the youngsters joined spontaneously organized activities: they played volleyball and other ball games, climbed a tightrope ... For those who does not feel like climbing up to the ceiling, the volunteers arranged unusual entertainment. It was enough to twist your arms and legs around the rope - and you can enjoy the amazing experience of flight! Such flight is incomparable with ordinary swings. And the volunteers at this time took all the necessary safety measures.
A graduate of the Vesnovo house-boarding school Vyacheslav has an extremely surprising hobby! It is not for the first time that he participates in the Spartakiad, however, as he himself said, besides sports he has another hobby, a very unexpected one for a guy - Slava embroiders icons.
“Embroidering icons is my favorite hobby,” he reveals. “The teacher at the house-boarding school taught me that. It turns out well, the icons come out beautiful and large, one and a half meters in height. Some of them even get to sell, then they are sanctified in the church."
It was impossible not to admire how effectively Oleg from Vesnovo house-boarding school walked the wheel around the hall. As it turned out, such acrobatics are not his only talent. Oleg also plays football at the goalkeeper's position - as he himself said modestly, he catches the balls well.
But it was not only about sports: during the day there were competitions, and in the evening some relaxation and entertainment were planned. On one eveng there was a movienight, and the next night there was a disco. Such "non-sports" communication brings the children together no less than the competitions themselves. And sporting achievements, in their turn, raise the team spirit and give faith in their own strength - and that sports victories will be followed by life victories.
This year, following the results of the Spartakiad, the 1st place was taken by the team of the Rechytsa house-boarding school, the 2nd - by the Bogushevsk house-boarding school, the 3rd - by the children from the Vesnovo house-boarding school.
