The event was attended by the leaders of the closed type educational institutions, deputy directors, as well as representatives of support groups and employees expected to participate in the project, as well as contact persons included in the project support group. The event was held online, for everyone it was something new and unusual. But in the conditions of COVID-19 one could organize meetings only on line.
During the meeting the goals and objectives of the project, the functionality of the support group, upcoming events within the project, work with the pupils and graduates of the closed type educational institutions were discussed. One of the representatives of the contact persons spoke about the interaction of adolescents with volunteers after leaving the institution. He told about the activities that are not always visible, but contact persons do for their wards. Such as: they meet pupils after leaving the institution, help to get to school, visit a doctor, turn to social services, help to solve problems of admission or getting a job, help to make the right decisions in everyday life, give necessary advice and others. The work of contact persons is very important in the life of every teenager, because after leaving the institution, they face difficulties that sometimes they are not able to solve themselves.
The project intends to combine the efforts of the staff of the closed type institutions and the work of contact persons. Creation of a support group in each institution in order to help the pupils even more effective is our goal. A support group? What is this? The group includes people who coordinate the process of providing aid to children according to the “Contact Person” model in the institution. The group will include employees of institutions, contact persons and a representative of CPA “World Without Borders”. We hope that only by joint efforts we can more effectively help our teenagers.
