On February 25, the chairman of our organization at the invitation of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities took part in the Regional Online Consultation for Central Asia and Eastern Europe “From isolation, invisibility and segregation to the inclusion of people with disabilities in society. Identifying and Overcoming Barriers to a Successful Deinstitutionalization Process ”.
We have sent theses of problem fields on this topic and ways to resolve them. More than 30 representatives of various organizations spoke at the event and indicated sharp problems in the process of deinstitutionalization of people with disabilities.
The event was hosted by Mr. Danlami Basharu, Chairman of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Mr. Jonas Ruskus, Vice Chairman.
