Belarus is on the Way to an Inclusive School

Thanks to energy, the principle of development, which is inherent in each of us, makes us to be developed, and in turn we develop the world around. The transformation in education due to the implementation of the principle of accessibility of quality education  for all children was planned by the national authorities of Belarus. The representative of  "World Without Borders" took part in a round table on preparations for the UN Global Summit on Education Transformation. The participants of the event noted the achievements and identified the main problems in which the education system should develop. By including the principle of inclusion in the Education Code, a course has been chosen to ensure equal access to education by all children, taking into account the special educational needs and individual capabilities of children with disabilities. The participants in the discussion voiced the problems of the readiness of children, parents and teachers to communicate, teach children with disabilities, create a barrier-free environment, diagnose children with developmental disabilities, attest their knowledge and providing everyone with highly professional education. As a result of the discussion at the round table, the direction for the transformation of education was outlined - a gradual transition to an inclusive school and the creation of a barrier-free environment.
The issue of inclusion for Belarus is no longer a matter of developing new legislation, but a matter of developing effective law enforcement practice, overcoming barriers in communication, forming a common vision of an inclusive school and the principles and conditions for its formation.
In this regard, we see that the activities of the organization WWB, specialists in the direction of deinstitutionalization will be supported by the creation of conditions for high-quality and affordable education for children with disabilities.
