Attention! Attention! Attention!

11 May 2020

The main goal of the project is to acquaint specialists in a number of regions with new forms of working with adolescents in conflict or in contact with the law, test them on the basis of specific childhood cases and summarize the experience gained, help to best comply with the rights of these children and timely see and prevent the risks of their violation. The project intends to use a case methodology, methods of social design, smart planning and others. We urge organizations that work with these children to join in the implementation of special policy measures to protect children from all types of abuse and violence.

These methods and approaches are supposed to be implemented with adolescents in three programs: on risk assessment, the possibility of further criminalization and overcoming these phenomena; to reinforce abiding behavior and design of a positive future. According to the results of the project it is planned to introduce these technologies in institutions and regions selected for participation, as well as to develop new forms and methods of helping children at home and instead of placing them in special educational closed type institutions, preventing relapse or further criminalization and the prosecution of adolescents.

Initiative groups representing both institutions and regional initiatives may be declared to participate in the project. The group should include both qualified specialists working with children of these categories as well as specific minors with whom we will try to overcome problematic development situations. Criteria for the selection of children - the complexity of the children's case, persistent conflict or contact with the law (possible criminal prosecution or referral to a special educational / medical institution, a tendency to violence (bullying source / offender), while striving (possibly formal) to overcome these problems .

Within the framework of the project, specialists from selected institutions or regions will expand their opportunities to work with these categories of adolescents, exercise their rights, contribute to their decriminalization, distraction from institutionalization, criminal prosecution, assistance in rehabilitation and re-socialization through participation in information round tables, conferences, seminars, including international; training on the online course "Case Management in the organization of individual preventive work"; individual consultations, monitoring meetings, assistance in working with adolescents, etc. All expenses for participation in events are paid by the project. It is expected that materials will be allocated for organizing work on the project.

The second component of the project will be devoted to the development of assistance to children in conflict with the law (including pupils and graduates of the closed type institutions) by improving the work on the model of “Contact Person”.

The “Contact Person” work model assumes professional and unprofessional support of pupils and graduates of closed type educational institutions, based on the principles of trusting friendly relations and has been implemented by our organization in these institutions for more than 10 years. Within the framework of this project, we would like to maximally implement this model of helping children in the process of rehabilitation and re-socialization of pupils, implemented by each institution. In the framework of experience in our cooperation, there have been many positive examples of this work, which significantly have increased the quality of preventive work and the degree of decriminalization in the future of the graduates. One of the last effective examples is the experience of implementing contact specialists in one of the institutions.

Within the framework of the project, a support group will be created in each closed type institution. The group will be aimed at providing comprehensive assistance to pupils and graduates of closed type educational institutions.

It is also planned to carry out a series of events for volunteers and contact persons, for pupils and graduates, for employees and specialists of the closed type educational institutions: trainings, seminars, forums, integration events, summer and winter events, joint field events and much more.

Everyone can join the implementation of our project.

And everyone can become a volunteer!!! You are welcome!!!
