On February 16, a seminar-meeting was held for heads of institutions under the UNDEF project “Protection of the rights of adolescents in institutions of Belarus”. Alexei Ananenko, Chairman of CPA "World without Borders", welcomed all the participants. Simakova Elena Fedorovna, Deputy Head of the Department of Social, Educational and Ideological Work of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus noted the importance and relevance of creating a safe and friendly environment in residential educational institutions.
In the 1st part of the seminar, the results of the monitoring in institutions on the features of the functioning of the child protection mechanism, recognizing risk situations and responding to them were discussed, as well as general recommendations were made by project experts on the development and implementation of a system for exercising the rights of pupils of these institutions. Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of Belarusian State Pedagogical University. M. Tanka Radygina Veronika Valerievna presented the results of training activities in institutions on the development of a child protection mechanism (based on a series of seminars and webinars with employees of institutions); difficulties and achievements were discussed.
The participants discussed the results of the first stage of the project implementation, as well as the plan for its further implementation for 2023. There is a lot of work to be done, but already the first results are inspiring and give grounds to see improvements in the protection of the rights of children and adolescents, an increase in the competencies of the staff of institutions and their personal interest.
