On October 26, 2022, a scientific and practical conference was held "Belarus: development of the practice of alternative and additional communication in the context of world experience". At this conference, theoretical and practical issues were considered. Eva Zubkovskaya, Consultant of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, Department for Persons with Disabilities presented “New approaches in the legislation on the rights of the disabled and their social integration”.
The law will enter into force on January 6, 2023 and personal assistant services will appear. Requirements for the candidate: higher education in the field of pedagogy, psychology or social sphere, knowledge of alternative and additional communication.
The most memorable presentations were made by AAC users.
Alexander Zenko presented the project "Walk with Sasha"- communication without barriers. He created this project himself. People get acquainted with the young man in social networks, communicate, walk, come to visit Alexander. Alexander himself carries out the communication process with the help of a computer, the linka program, which voices the text typed on the computer with the help of a chin.
Inspirational speech by Ivan Bakaidov, programmer, AAC user (Russian Federation) "Life without a voice - how everyone can help" left a mark on everyone's heart.
Alexander and Ivan are an example of people who have mastered the AAC and can fully communicate with society.
Parents of “special” children shared a very interesting experience:

Parents of children with special needs spoke about the challenges they and their children had to face in learning the system of using AAC.

Tatyana Sinitsa, candidate of psychological sciences, special psychologist, AAC specialist (Belarus). Theme "Resources for the development of alternative and additional communication." The main resource formed by adults around a non-verbal child is the coordinated position of the psychologist-teacher and the child.
