The coaches of the seminar were experts in the clear language of the NGO "BelAPDiMI" Tatiana Grishan and Veronica Kovaleva who formed the idea of "clear language" as an instrument of alternative communication with children with disabilities, acquainted with basic requirements to texts in "clear language", have worked in practice basic skills of work with the text.
Another coach - Ekaterina Soroko, the Head of the Department of Corrective-Developing Technologies of the Institute of Inclusive Education of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, acquainted participants with methods of interaction with children with disabilities, which have significant violations of verbal communication skills, using means of supporting and alternative communication.
The moderator of the seminar – the Head of the Republican Resource Center of Inclusive Education, Zhanna Ovchinnikova, coordinated the development of a methodical manual on teaching the rights of children with disabilities. The main attention of the participants was focused on the rights of identity, family life, education, as well as health, protection from violence, speaking and expressing childrens opinion. The participants of the seminar were most interested in working in subgroups to develop a map of the module on teaching rights of children with disabilities and technological map of training sessions on the rights of children with disabilities.
As a result of the seminar, the participants formed knowledge and skills in the use of supporting and alternative communication as an effective means of improving the quality of life of children with the disabilities. The participants of the seminar are focused on the further work on development of methodical manual on teaching rights of children with disabilities.
