On October 6, 2017 our volunteers visited the Mogilev school of closed type institution for teenagers in conflict with the law with the program "Give our warmth!". This theme was chosen for a good reason. After all, we need to give our warmth not only to people who surround us, but also to those who are not around and who should not be forgotten - they are mothers! The boys live far from their mothers but keep in touch with them. We invited them to write letters in which they could express all that they could not say for so long, they confessed their feelings to their mothers and wrote words of gratitude. Most letters were filled with lovely sentiments but for some there was very little written as talking about love is not as simple as it really seems. We also got creative with the paper as we made origami hearts with the letters folded inside.
After talking in groups, everyone gathered in the assembly hall, where there was a small concert. It involved not only volunteers and contact persons, but also the boys themselves. They were able to prepare several numbers to congratulate our volunteers on Teacher’s Day which had just passed and also for the upcoming Mother's Day. It was very pleasant not only for the volunteers, teachers, and educators, but also for the boys themselves, because they were able to show their talents and say thank you to all those who work with them and spend time with them.
The boys exchanged contact details with our volunteers, eager to keep in contact. The volunteers happily left their addresses and were ready to become contact friends for the children. The trip turned out to be rich and fruitful!
Thanks to all volunteers for their active participation in our events. See you soon!
